European Union Preparatory Action Innovation for place based transformation aims to facilitate and promote the transformative innovation approach by awareness raising, capacity building, and experimentation activities with selected participants.

Climate resilience is of a transversal nature, requiring systemic approaches. Place-based transformative innovation can therefore help accelerating the adaptation of the EU and its territories to the impacts of climate change.

Higher Education is increasingly called upon to help drive societal transformations. This project considers how higher education can support systems change, what skills are required and how this can be made a reality in EU territories.

The one-year Pilot action was launched in May 2022. It saw the voluntary participation of 74 European territories (cities, regions, Member States and networks) to exchange practices and learn more on place-based transformative innovation policies.

POLYTRoPOS project aims to build the knowledge base, investigate the feasibility and demonstrate the potential policy applications of System Dynamics (SD) in the area of system-level innovation.
