The Buzz: Territories in Action Networking Event

The EU has been a pioneer in public innovation policy, especially with the introduction of place-based innovation through the design of smart specialisation strategies in 2014. This approach builds on the concept that with a place-based angle, it could lead to societal transformations by means of innovation polices. 

With the publication of the ACTIONBook—a practical guide co-created with participating territories, which provides a guide to place-based transformation in the development of innovation policies- as a starting point, the JRC will implement a European Union Preparatory Action Innovation for place based transformation  supported by the European Parliament, during the next two years.

Linked to this Preparatory Action, this autumn the JRC will organize a networking event to discuss with territories interested in participating in it. The primary aim of this new initiative is to facilitate, promote and further disseminate transformative innovation approaches within the participating territories and beyond. The Preparatory Action will combine a series of dissemination, outreach, capacity building and co-creation activities that will aim to push further the capacities of the territories to mobilize resources and face societal challenges.

The event registration opens at 18:00. The event starts at 18.30.
